Cheers to a Fresh Start: Happy New Year!

Baby It's Cold Outside: The Effects Of Cold Weather And The Brain!

The winter months can be difficult for many of us and our mental health.

With dropping temperatures and shorter days, we might feel the need to sleep for longer, notice a change in our appetite, or find it difficult to do things we normally enjoy. At times you feel stressed, lonely, sad or anxious.

What self-care can I try?

If you feel your mood is low during the winter, there are some things you can try to help you feel better. These are just suggestions, and they may not always work for you. Different things work for different people at different times.

Go Outside:

Allowing some natural sunlight to your eyes, is the most effective way to alter your mood. Go to a park, take a walk, or simply look out the window.

Know Before You Go:

So many of my clients want immediate remedy for emotional distressed. I am sad- now what? I can't sleep, have running thoughts... what do I do? And I always say "Know before you go" we must a better understanding of who we are and what triggers us. Recognize the intelligence of your body. Meditate, practice mindfulness, engage in restorative yoga, Breath

Talk To Someone:
